Exploring Startup Financing, Entrepreneurship and Digital Investing

Companisto once again opened its doors for this year’s Girls’Day initiative, welcoming young girls into the world of fintech, venture capital and digital investing. Under the theme “A Day at Companisto – Exploring the World of Startups, Investing and FinTech,” the girls gained firsthand insights into the everyday work behind startup financing and digital investment platforms.

The Importance of Female Role Models

For Sarah Buge of Companisto, the initiative is about far more than a single office visit. With more than ten years of experience in fintech and e-commerce, she strongly believes that early exposure to financial topics, entrepreneurship and modern working environments can shape confidence and future career decisions.

“Culture and context shape whether potential becomes visible or remains untapped,” Buge explains. “It’s not only about what you do, but where you do it.”

Especially in industries such as finance, venture capital and technology — still heavily dominated by men — visible female role models and accessible learning opportunities play a crucial role. Girls’Day creates exactly this kind of space: a chance to ask questions, experience new perspectives and discover careers that many young women may not otherwise consider.

Encouraging Financial Literacy and Entrepreneurial Thinking

At Companisto, the girls were able to look behind the scenes of startup financing, meet female professionals from different business areas and take part in interactive sessions around investing and innovation. The goal was not only to explain how fintech works, but also to make financial literacy and entrepreneurial thinking more approachable for the next generation.

Insights from Women in FinTech and Entrepreneurship

The event was supported by several female team members from across Companisto, including Liliana Leybovich, Senior Investment Operations Manager, Janette Lenz from Investor Relations and Danae Fritsch, who shared insights into their daily work in fintech and digital investing. The program was further enriched by Anika Straub, head of the entrepreneurship initiative “Gründerimpuls” and involved in the educational platform “Jugend gründet,” who contributed additional perspectives on entrepreneurial thinking, innovation and career development for young people.

By sharing their professional experiences and personal career journeys, they helped create an open and inspiring environment for the eleven participating girls.

Companisto connects thousands of investors with innovative startups and growth companies across the DACH region. Beyond investing, the company sees initiatives like Girls’Day as an important contribution toward building a more diverse and inclusive financial industry.

Opening New Perspectives in Finance, Entrepreneurship and Technology

For many of the girls, the day may have been more than just an introduction to fintech. It may have encouraged them to see new opportunities for themselves in finance, entrepreneurship and technology.
