Fintech Café December 2025: European Digital Finance in Dialogue
On December 1st, 2025, the European Digital Finance Association (EDFA) held its final Fintech Café of the year. Karsten Wenzlaff as CEO of Digital Invest Germany and Board Member of EDFA hosted the session. The session provided an opportunity to reflect on key developments in the European fintech sector and revisit major topics from recent months.
The discussion focused on regulatory trends shaping 2025, including progress on MiCA implementation, developments around the Digital Euro, updates to the Payment Services Directive (PSD), and issues related to data access and financial data regulation. Participants also shared perspectives from across national ecosystems, highlighting common challenges, the broad impact of regulation, and the continued importance of collaboration between associations and networks across Europe.
